Stop Making Sense

Stop Making Sense is an Aarhus-based concept orchestra with over 25 years of history. The project draws from Jonathan Demme's 1984 concert film "Stop Making Sense" featuring Talking Heads.

The orchestra recreates the film's music, wildness and humor without slavishly copying it. The repertoire covers songs from the film and hits from Talking Heads' later work - with occasional TomTom Club or B-52's numbers mixed in. The programme includes Burning Down the House, Road to Nowhere, Take Me to the River, Psycho Killer and Once In a Lifetime.

Lead vocals are handled by Keld Hosbond, who takes on the challenge of capturing David Byrne's charisma and voice. The musicians behind him are drawn from various Aarhus festival bands.

Looking up is just as frightening as looking down.
