Art Hour: Art, War and Rebellion from the Weimar Republic to the Fall of the Wall — ARoS - Auditorium, Niveau 3, Aarhus

This lecture explores Germany's turbulent history and examines art's ability to express allegiance or resistance to the political norms and values that have prevailed at any given time.

In the early twentieth century, Berlin was a modern mecca for expressionist wildness and Dadaist nonsense - short-haired women, passionate spirits, lost souls, and a disillusioned war generation drowning their sorrows in dance and violence. Fifty years later, punks and artists in the divided city looked back and tried to rediscover the spark from the culture the Nazis had destroyed.

The event is free and exclusive to ARoS members with annual passes. You are welcome to bring a companion - also free.
