Physical Activity and Mental Health
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · Free
We know that physical activity strengthens the body - but what does it mean for mood, quality of life, and mental health? Can training create agency, community, and new paths to recovery for people with psychological vulnerability?
Julie Midtgaard, clinical professor of psychiatry and senior researcher at the Psychiatric Center Glostrup and University of Copenhagen, discusses the connection between physical activity and mental health. She provides insights into the research project Vega, which in collaboration with Arca Aarhus has examined the value of crossfit training communities for psychologically vulnerable young people.
The event is part of Folkeuniversitetet's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds. The full programme can be found on Folkeuniversitetet's website.
