Reading Concert with Einar Már Guðmundsson and Composer Christian Risgaard

Author Einar Már Guðmundsson reads from his poetry collection "To the Right Recipient", while composer Christian Risgaard performs his music accompanying the collection. The evening takes place in Byrådssalen.

"To the Right Recipient" from 2019 consists of 32 lyrical poems divided into 7 sections. Starting from beginnings and endings, the poems circle around love, seasons, nature and the universe. The collection can also be read as a single continuous poem, where the same themes and motifs return - much like in a musical piece.

Einar Már Guðmundsson studied literature at the University of Copenhagen and made his debut as an author in 1980. He has published numerous books and received, among other awards, the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1995 for "Angels of the Universe" and the Blixen Medal in 1999.

Christian Risgaard studied at the North Jutland Music Conservatory with violin as his specialization and has worked with folk music, jazz, world music, rock, chamber music and electronica.
