The Musical Andersen - A Musical Lecture on H.C. Andersen

H.C. Andersen (1805-1875) is known worldwide for his fairy tales, but he was also a novelist, playwright, poet, and travel writer. This lecture portrays the man behind the works - from his humble childhood in Odense to the international recognition he achieved during his lifetime.

Inger Nygaard Kaad from Randers Library tells the story of Andersen's rise, driven by talent and determination. Library musician Peter Elmelund accompanies the lecture on guitar with group singing of texts by Andersen - both well-known and lesser-known - as well as a newly composed melody for one of his lesser-known poems.
