Behind the Scenes: A Musical Comes to Life
Køge Bibliotek, Køge · Free
Søren Møller is artistic director and creative producer at Østre Gasværk Teater. Over the past two decades, he has shaped the Danish musical scene - as artistic director at Fredericia Teater, later as rector of Det Danske Musicalakademi - and produced works such as Disney's Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Shu-bi-dua The Musical, and Seebach.
At this event, he discusses what it takes to produce and lead major theatrical musicals, and what role AI plays in musicals. The focus is the new original musical OLIVIA - and the secret of the shadow dancers, a story connected to the historical witch hunts in Køge.
In the musical, Olivia is a high school senior struggling with anxiety. Her mother died under mysterious circumstances, and she lives alone with her father - until he decides they should move to Køge, where many "witches" were burned at the stake. At her new school, Olivia is invited to join the school production, but then unexplained things begin to happen: she discovers new sides of herself, magic is unleashed, secrets crumble - and dark forces draw closer.
Premiere September 18. Script: Adam Price. Music: Rasmus Seebach, Ankerstjerne, and Andreas Sommer.
📍 Location: The Facts department on the ground floor.
