Book Club: 'The Adult Child' by Olga Ravn

Book Club is for everyone who enjoys reading and discussing books with others. Librarian Flora Juul Ørskov hosts and guides the conversation.

This time we are reading 'Voksbarnet' (The Adult Child) by Olga Ravn. The unmarried Christenze Kruckow is accused of witchcraft and flees from South Funen to Aalborg - or "the city of hatred", as her magical wax doll calls it. The wax doll is also the novel's narrator. Christenze finds her way into a close community of women, but it does not protect her from rumours of her devilish arts. Meanwhile, Christian IV has decided that the country's witches must be eradicated. The novel is based on real events from 17th-century North Jutland.

Participants can pick up the book at the library from 7 September during staffed opening hours.
