The Witch's Guide to Feminism

Drawing on feminist theories by Simone de Beauvoir, Judith Butler, Donna Haraway, Kimberlé Crenshaw, and Sara Ahmed, this event explores how the female body and sensuality have been historically suppressed - and translates theory into concrete practice.

The event is based on a zine the two have created together: The Witch's Guide to Feminist Theory.

Through small rituals and reflection exercises, we explore how feminist practice can find space in everyday life. We create emotion maps, tie knots (yarn and beads are provided, but you're welcome to bring something of personal value), work with shadows, and release the unwanted with the help of the elements. The witch appears here as a knowing figure with transformative power.

The event takes place in the Study Area and is part of Witch Days - a series of events in October exploring the many meanings of the witch. Witch Days is created by Køge Libraries, Teaterbygningen, and Køge Archives in collaboration with Køge Museum, Youth Culture House Tappen, Køge Art Association, and other cultural actors in Køge Municipality.
