The Reformation Unfolds - The Luther Rose in Paper

As part of the 500th anniversary celebration of the Reformation in Haderslev in 2026, Historie Haderslev presents a small exhibition in Baghuset at Ehlers Samlingen, Slotsgade 20.

The exhibition centers on the Luther Rose - Martin Luther's seal - with its symbols: the cross, the heart, the rose, the heavenly background, and the golden ring. The rose is the dominant motif and follows nature's progression from bud to full bloom and on to fading petals. Most elements are made from paper, with individual sheets shaped into more or less detailed figures using scissors, knives, and folding techniques.

Jytte Isaksen created and coordinated the exhibition, with contributions from several local residents. The exhibition opens on 12 September at 14:00 and runs until 18 October - Tuesday to Sunday 12:00-16:00. Admission is free.
