Bone-Healthy Diet
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · 150 kr. · ≈ 20 €
A lecture on the importance of diet for bone health, with practical advice on keeping bones strong throughout life. The event is aimed at everyone interested in bone-friendly nutrition - whether or not you have osteoporosis.
Clinical dietitian Mette Borre explains how bones develop over a lifetime and the role of calcium, vitamin D, and protein in building and maintaining bone mass. She examines which foods provide these nutrients and how official dietary guidelines support bone health. She also provides practical tools for calculating the calcium and vitamin D content of food, and offers guidance on supplements for osteoporosis, intestinal calcium absorption, and differences between types of calcium.
Mette Borre is a clinical dietitian at Aarhus University Hospital in the gastroenterology department. She has contributed to Danish guidelines and articles on treating constipation and irritable bowel syndrome, and is co-author of several books including "Rigtig god fordøjelse", "Low FODMAP Diet - giver ro i maven", and "Toptrimmede tarm".
There will be plenty of time for questions, and a break midway through where participants can meet each other and the local board. Arranged in collaboration with FOF. Venue: Lille Sal.
