Life as an Autism Parent - Part 2
Kildevæld Kulturcenter, Copenhagen · 65 kr. · ≈ 9 €
Do you know the feeling of dropping your child off at school or daycare and leaving with a knot in your stomach? The sense that something isn't right - and then the fallout when your child comes home overwhelmed, reacts intensely, or withdraws completely.
Too many families find themselves in exactly this situation. When children are held within frameworks that don't fit their needs, the consequences are clear: struggling, school refusal, stress, and families fighting just to get through the day. Parents sacrifice careers and social connections, sibling relationships and partnerships are strained - and many teachers and educators genuinely want to help but lack the necessary resources.
Trine Højbjerre (Trine-ht), mother of a boy with infantile autism, shares her personal story of fighting to be heard, of doubt, powerlessness, and hope. Pernille K. Trondal (din.rigtige.socialrådgiver), a private social counselor, draws on the rights many parents don't know about, what case workers may not tell you, and how to best navigate when your child needs support.
After the talk, there will be time for questions and networking with other parents in similar situations.
