War no longer feels distant - yet peace is often treated as a pious hope rather than a real possibility. Two researchers meet at Humlebæk Library to explore whether both actually follow a logic we can understand and act upon.

Military analyst at the Royal Danish Defence College Anders Puck Nielsen has mapped in 'The Politics of War' what drives nations toward armed conflict: ideologies, power strategies, and the mechanisms set in motion long before the first shot. Peace researcher and lecturer at Lund University Isabel Bramsen poses a related but different question in 'The Logic of Peace' - not what starts wars, but what stops them, and how peace emerges in concrete situations, from diplomatic meetings to popular movements.

The two discuss the logics of war, the conditions for peace, and whether optimism about the future is naive or necessary. The conversation is moderated by literature communicator Kristian Emil Mariager and arranged in collaboration with Fredensborg Folk University.
