Simon Rion Vertical Experience

On Friday, 25 September, The Vault in Copenhagen opens its doors to just 10 guests for a vertical champagne tasting with Simon Rion - a small, family-owned grower-producer from Courmas in Montagne de Reims, where the family has been making champagne for four generations. Simon took over the family domaine from his father Pascal in 2007 and works today with just 2.15 hectares of vineyards planted primarily with Meunier and Pinot Noir, plus a small amount of Chardonnay. The house is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne - no herbicides are used, and the soil is worked mechanically.

The evening begins with two non-vintage champagnes as an introduction to the house:
- Simon Rion Blanc de Noirs
- Simon Rion Blanc de Blancs

Then comes the vertical itself - seven vintages tasted side by side:
- Vintage 2005
- Vintage 2006
- Vintage 2007
- Vintage 2009
- Vintage 2010
- Vintage 2012
- Vintage 2013

2005, 2006 and 2007 are sold out at Champagne by Moes and are presented here together with four vintages being shown for the first time. In total, 9 champagnes from one producer.
