Montessori Toddler Playgroup — Islands Brygge Bibliotek, Copenhagen

A small, practical playgroup for toddlers and their parents, built on Montessori principles and designed to support young children's natural drive for independence. The programme runs over four sessions covering practical life skills, sensory experiences, fine motor development, and care for the environment.

Session schedule:
October 25 · I Can Do It Myself: Pouring & Transferring - simple practical-life activities such as pouring, spooning and transferring objects, focusing on concentration, coordination and independence.
November 1 · What Does It Feel Like?: Sensory Sorting & Matching - colour, texture, size and matching through hands-on activities, exploring why repetition and the child's own interests are central to early learning.
November 8 · Busy Hands: Fine Motor Skills & Puzzles - puzzles, threading and other activities that challenge small hands, plus how to support persistence without stepping in too quickly.
November 15 · Start to Finish: Care of the Environment - simple everyday activities like wiping, folding, matching and tidying that support concentration, independence and order.

The sessions are designed to build on each other but also work well as standalone workshops. The group is kept intentionally small to allow space for questions, individual guidance and practical support. Activities are adapted to each child's developmental stage, and children explore at their own pace. Each 45-minute session includes a Montessori-inspired activity, practical guidance for parents, informal time with other families, and a brief take-home summary with key points and tips.

Sessions are conducted in English, and Christina can translate or explain in Danish as needed. Prior knowledge of Montessori is not required. The facilitators are Annalisa Di Blasio, a Montessori coach with expertise in Montessori principles for toddlers, and Christina Legarth-Lund, Montessori-trained mother of two boys.
