Poetry in Paper - Paper Art in Gudenåhuset

Psaligraph Bit Vejle works exclusively with scissors and paper - no pencil, no chance to undo a cut. Her traveling exhibition "Poetry in Paper" fills the exhibition space of Gudenåhuset at Bjerringbro Library in December, January, and February with large, delicate paper works inspired by classical composers and writers such as H.C. Andersen and Piet Hein. The exhibition has previously been shown in the USA and other venues.

Vejle is considered one of the world's leading psaligraphy artists. She debuted at Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum in 2008 and has since exhibited at international museums and galleries. After 30 years in Norway, she returned in 2018 to North Jutland, where she founded the Museum for Paper Art in Hune. There you can also see the permanent exhibition "With Scissors as Brush".

The motifs in "Poetry in Paper" range from nature scenes to more serious themes. Access is during the library's staffed opening hours: Monday-Wednesday 10-18, Thursday-Friday 10-17, and Saturday 10-13. The library is closed on Sundays.
