On September 24, '1%' is released - the final book in Maren Uthaug's percentage trilogy, which began with '11%' and '88%'. For this occasion, she visits Bjerringbro Library to discuss the ideas behind the speculative world she has created - a matriarchal society where free-roaming men have been eliminated, female orgasms are regarded as mental hygiene, and everything connected with men is both eerie and repulsive.

Maren Uthaug received the Golden Laurels for '11%' and was named Novel of the Year at the Mofibo Awards two years in a row for '11%' and '88%' respectively. Information wrote about '11%': "Literature doesn't get much wilder."

The event takes place in the Viften room at Bjerringbro Library.

Bjerringbro Bibliotek has been serving the town since 1911 and is now housed in Gudenåhuset, a 1,700 m² combined library and cultural centre designed by Kjelgaard & Pedersen A/S and opened on 31 March 2000. Part of Viborg Bibliotekerne, the building contains the concert hall Viften, an exhibition space, the local history archive, and Café Gudenåhuset. The library runs cultural events for children and adults in partnership with local organisations such as Bjerringbro Folkeuniversitet, Bjerringbro Kunstforening and MusikViften.

Born in Norwegian Kautokeino with Sámi roots but raised in Denmark, Maren Uthaug has spent over a decade drawing her daily Politiken strip while writing novels that mix grotesque humour with pointed social critique. Her dystopian percent-trilogy has made her one of the most widely read and debated voices in contemporary Danish literature.
