Love for the Pen

Love for the Pen - poetry reading: Thursday 8 October 2026, 16:30–18:00, Gellerup Bibliotek, Brabrand. Admission is free.

Poets and word-players from Tekst til tiden and Unge danske digtere perform texts written in response to prompts from two different speakers: Huda Chaaban, co-leader at Frontløberne, and PC Asmussen, author and former circus director at Gøglerskolen.

Huda's prompt draws on Palestinian author and political activist Ghassan Kanafani's novel "Men in the Sun" - specifically his belief in the power of the pen as a tool of resistance. PC Asmussen's prompt is rooted in his experience leading writing groups with homeless people, prisoners, and Danes dealing with diagnoses, climate anxiety, and much more - writing as a liberating force.

The event is framed by literary texts selected by Silas Stochholm, co-chair of Unge Danske Digtere, which are displayed on the library walls. The texts remain on display after the performance. Everyone is welcome.
