Can Art Save the Climate? · Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke, Copenhagen
Description was written before the event

The climate crisis is not just a political or scientific challenge - it also raises questions about our understanding of nature and our ability to connect with the life we are part of. In this conversation, author Nanna Storr-Hansen and documentary filmmaker Phie Ambo explore what art can contribute in a time marked by climate change and biodiversity crises.

In the novel Græsenke, Nanna Storr-Hansen writes herself into a sensory space where the boundaries between human and nature shift, and nature is not merely a backdrop but an active force. Phie Ambo's current film Ilden, Vandet, Jorden, Luften turns its gaze toward a Nordic region where climate change is no longer a future threat but a concrete reality - and explores through personal stories how nature's changes affect everyday life.

Together they discuss art's ability to create new images of the relationship between humans and the world, and whether literature and film can do something that facts and politics cannot.
