At Home with 'The Vicar' — Hovedbiblioteket, Viborg

Vicar Gitte Elisabeth Hansen from Viborg Cathedral Parish opens her private living room to host an afternoon with author Anne Skov Thomsen. The conversation centres on Thomsen's debut novel 'The Vicar', which draws on her own childhood as the daughter of two vicars in Vendsyssel. The novel explores identity, belonging in multiple contexts, and finding one's place in community. Cultural mediator Anja Ingwersen moderates.

Anne Skov Thomsen holds a degree in Nordic languages and literature and works as a reviewer for Kristeligt Dagblad, as well as a translator and freelance publishing editor. 'The Vicar' offers insight into the unique role of the vicarage in the years around the turn of the millennium.

Gitte Elisabeth Hansen is vicar at Viborg Cathedral, having taken up the position in August 2024 after nearly 20 years as vicar in Ulfborg. She grew up in Hvide Sande.

The event concludes with soup in the vicar's living room. The price includes soup and one glass of wine. Advance booking is required. The event is arranged in collaboration with Viborg Cathedral Parish.

Please note: there will be stairs.
