Sigurdis Jazz Trio

Sigurdis Jazz Trio performs at BLIK - Græsted Bibliotek to celebrate the release of their debut album "Bergmál fjallanna // Bjergenens Ekko", produced by Canadian four-time Juno Award winner David Braid.

The programme features both instrumental compositions and vocal pieces, including melodies written specifically for poems by Sigurdís' great-uncle. Sigurdís is an Icelandic pianist, composer and vocalist based in Odense, and her music draws from her roots in northwestern Iceland, the changing expressions of nature, and family tradition - particularly the musician and poet Jónas Tryggvason (1916-1983).

The trio consists of Sigurdís on piano, Mariusz Praśniewski on double bass, and Péter Horváth on drums.
