Madness in Literature #1: Sylvia Plath: The Bell Jar

The reading circle "Madness in Literature" begins with Sylvia Plath's 1963 novel. The Bell Jar follows Esther Greenwood from ambition and competence into depression and hospitalization - a novel closely tied to Plath's own life while offering a critical portrait of 1950s America.

No prior knowledge is required, only a desire to discuss the book and share reading experiences. There is room for a maximum of 10 participants, so everyone gets a chance to speak.
