SOLD OUT - Voices from the Iranian Women's Uprising
Horsens Bibliotek, Horsens · Free
Iranian poetry has historically served as popular resistance - through graffiti, slogans, and literature. Danish-Iranian Shekufe Tadayoni Heiberg has worked extensively in this field through lectures, translations, and her own texts. In 2023, she published the short story "Første gang jeg tager tørklædet på" (The First Time I Put on the Headscarf), a text for young people about the headscarf as a marker of identity.
When Shekufe visits LÆS!, she discusses her work with books and the context in which they were written - including how Iran's young generation has used poetry as part of their uprising.
Students are encouraged to have read the short story "Første gang jeg tager tørklædet på" before the visit. The event takes place in Salen.
