Mushroom Foraging Walk in Hareskoven
Biologist and foraging expert Klara Rask from Vilde Råvarer guides a mushroom walk in Hareskoven - just a train ride from Copenhagen, yet an excellent spot to search for porcini, chanterelles, trumpet mushrooms and other edible varieties.
The tour begins with an introduction and continues as a forest walk, where Klara shares knowledge about what you find: season, habitat, identifying features and toxic lookalikes. You'll learn about edible, inedible and poisonous mushrooms, and what increases your chances of a successful forage. At the end, tips on preparation are given, and all baskets are checked for "stowaways". The walk lasts 2-3 hours and ends where it starts.
Meeting point is the car park on the northwest side of the station. Bring practical shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a mushroom basket and a small sharp knife. Children aged 5-13 are welcome with a child ticket at 100 DKK. The walk is not suitable for pushchairs.
The mushroom walk is a course focused on learning and preparation - timing and location are planned for good foraging chances, but there is no guarantee of a full basket. In case of severe drought, the walk may be cancelled or rescheduled to another date with the option of a refund (excluding fees).
