Ivalu's First Song 6+ / Teatermagi Amager
Børnekulturhus Ama´r, Copenhagen · 40 kr. · ≈ 5 €
Ivalu's First Song - children's theatre: Friday 16 October 2026, 10:00, Børnekulturhus Ama´r, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 40 kr.
In his account of the Great Sled Journey, Knud Rasmussen described how songs arise in people seized by something greater than everyday language can contain - words that spring forth and become song. This is precisely what the performance takes as its starting point.
Ivalu's First Song follows a little girl who, against all odds, composes her very first song and thereby saves her family. The performance revolves around courage, about doing what you must when it is necessary, and about the forces that emerge precisely when the need is greatest. The target audience is children from 6 years old.
The performance is created and performed by Claus Mandøe. Other contributors: lighting design by Morten Ladefoged, sound design by Andreas Sandborg, wooden figures by Niels Willum Andreasen, woodcuts by Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen, workshop by Steen Molls, William Højbjerg and Morten Lauersen, directing consultant Kai Büchner, and poster and graphic design by Kajsa Gullberg.
The performance is part of the Teatermagi festival during the autumn break (week 42), which brings children's theatre to cultural centres and libraries in Østerbro, Vesterbro, Amager, Nørrebro, Vanløse, Valby, Indre By, Brønshøj-Husum, Sydhavnen, Bispebjerg and Tingbjerg.
