Folkeuniversitetet and professor of intellectual history Mikkel Thorup invite you to a series of philosophical evening lectures at Kulturbodega Bellis. The starting point is contemporary questions set against texts from earlier turning points - from Kant, Marx and Weber to Freud, Orwell and Judith Shklar - to examine what earlier generations' thinking can tell us about our own time.

This evening focuses on Immanuel Kant's essay "What is Enlightenment?" from 1784, written in the midst of the Enlightenment's confrontation with authority and faith in human reason. The question is what has become of that legacy - are we still living in an age of enlightenment, or are we witnessing its decline?

The series takes place every Tuesday from week 43 until mid-December (except 24/11), 17:00-18:00 at Kulturbodega Bellis, Graven 21, 8000 Aarhus C.
