Folkeuniversitetet and professor of intellectual history Mikkel Thorup invite you to a series of philosophical evening lectures at Kulturbodega Bellis every Tuesday from week 43 to mid-December (except 24/11). The lectures explore current questions through texts from earlier turning points - from Kant, Marx and Weber to Freud, Orwell and Judith Shklar.

This evening focuses on Karl Marx's "The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte" from 1852, which examines the forces driving history, the emergence of class society and modern parliamentary politics. The discussion addresses whether humans can still be understood as history-makers, or whether our political agency is narrower than we imagine.
