Literary Saturday: Sigrid Undset with Klaus Rothstein · Østerbro Bibliotek, Copenhagen

Sigrid Undset with Klaus Rothstein: Saturday 20 March 2027, 14:00–16:00, Østerbro Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 75 kr.

Sigrid Undset received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1928, particularly for her masterpiece Kristin Lavransdatter and the historical novel series about Olav Audunssøn. Through these works and her early breakthrough Jenny, she depicted the focal points of human life with historical precision and psychological depth. In the 1930s, she was one of the sharpest critics of Nazism and Fascism, which sent her into exile during World War II. Her conversion to Catholicism also left a profound ethical and existential mark on her literary work.

Klaus Rothstein, literary critic at Weekendavisen and author of essay collections at the intersection of literature, politics and society, guides us through Undset's life and literary career. He has extensive experience as a curator and host of literary radio programmes and podcasts and works deeply with literary history - including through events at the Royal Library.

Tickets cost 75 kr. and include coffee and pastry. The event takes place on the 3rd floor, study room.

Note: Tickets are not refunded unless the conditions of the event change.
