Østerbro Bibliotek opened in 1885 and is one of Copenhagen's oldest and largest public libraries. It has been on the ground floor of Dag Hammarskjölds Allé 19 since 1959, in the city's embassy quarter near the lakes. The bright, open space with large windows offers seating for students and casual readers alike. The children's section was refurbished in 2021, and the library regularly hosts author evenings, reading clubs and other events for all ages.
