Quantum Computers - Live Stream from Aarhus University

The evening's lecturer is Klaus Mølmer, professor of quantum physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. He introduces the world of quantum physics and the "quantum revolution" that is developing technologies based on the most paradoxical quantum phenomena - including quantum computers, how they work, and what they can be used for.

In the microscopic world of atoms and molecules, the laws of quantum physics apply, where particles can seemingly be in multiple places at once, and measurements always yield random results. Quantum physics transformed physics in the early 20th century, and since the 1990s, both Denmark and internationally have invested large sums in the race to develop quantum computers that use atomic quantum states to perform calculations on many numbers simultaneously.
