Pierre Bonnard - The Poetry of Colour

Pierre Bonnard is renowned for his timeless painting. He forged his own artistic path throughout his career, remaining outside the major movements of his time such as Cubism and Surrealism. Today he is regarded as one of the 20th century's greatest colourists, and in his works he explored light, colour and the simple moments of everyday life.

Brightly lit interiors, vibrant landscapes and intimate scenes all share the same expression: a quiet, sensual joy in life. On this evening, Philippe Puisais speaks about Bonnard's life and art, and his unique relationship with colour.
