HP Lange Big Gumbo — Hinnerup Bibliotek, Hinnerup

H.P. Lange Big Gumbo performs on Saturday, 5 September at Hinnerup Bibliotek & Kulturhus. This is one of seven Danish tour dates, with the concert starting at 19:00. Before the music begins, authentic Louisiana gumbo is served - the classic soup built on a rich stock and roux simmered for hours. Hinnerup Bibliotek & Kulturhus is an architecturally designed cultural venue from 1993, located at Skovvej 18. The band plays blues with elements of zydeco, mambo and mountain music. Tickets cost 275 kroner.

About the venue: Hinnerup Bibliotek

Hinnerup Bibliotek & Kulturhus is an architect-designed combined library and cultural centre covering 1,580 m², designed by Hans Peter Svendler Nielsen of 3XNielsen in Aarhus. It opened in May 1993 and was renovated after a fire in 2002. Alongside its book collection and study spaces, the building houses Uhresalen, a room used for rotating art exhibitions, as well as spaces for talks, concerts and workshops. The centre is user-governed and part of Favrskov Bibliotekerne.

About: H.P. Lange

The minister's son from outside Aarhus who swapped the church choir for a blues guitar at 16 is now a road-hardened veteran with nearly four decades of touring behind him. Backed by Big Gumbo, he serves up acoustic blues seasoned with zydeco, cajun and mountain music - and three Danish Music Awards to his name.
