Emil Midé Erichsen - A Quest for Adventure

Emil Midé Erichsen is known from the documentary series "Course Towards Distant Shores", where he and his brother spent three years sailing around the world. Since then, he has undertaken new expeditions, lived at sea with his family, and given over 300 lectures - but the fundamental question remains the same: What is it we are really seeking?

In this lecture, Emil draws on concrete experiences from the Arctic to the Caribbean and traces the path from dreams of circumnavigation to everyday life as it is today - with children, responsibilities, and a different kind of courage. What do you do when adventure is no longer just about yourself, but about an "us"?

Most recently, Emil sailed from Denmark to the Caribbean with his wife Louise and their two sons. The journey is on pause, and for one evening he docks at Bispen to get close to both the adventure and the doubt behind it.
