Total Hip Replacement & Anyankofo perform at Gnisten in March 2027. The band blends Ghanaian highlife with reggae, dub and soul, delivering warm grooves and powerful brass. With roots in both Denmark and Ghana, the nine musicians create a dynamic, hopeful sound with messages about the world's troubling developments. Live, the collective builds an inclusive space with infectious playfulness.

The years 2022-2026 have been explosive for the band. Their debut album Anyankofo, the first Danish-Ghanaian album of its kind, led to tours across Europe, South America and West Africa, received strong reviews in magazines and on radio, and brought them to festivals like Bout du Monde in France and Reggae Jam in Germany.

Now the band is ready with their second album, Ehum, created during tours, travels in Ghana and jam sessions with musicians from both countries. After years of friendship and musical exchange, the band goes deeper into the meeting of their different cultural roots and creates a new shared musical language. Ehum marks the start of a new journey: first along the West African coast with concerts in Senegal, Ivory Coast and Ghana, then to Europe and Danish venues - including Gnisten in Ry on 6 March.
