Hvalfugl

The Aarhus-based trio Hvalfugl returns to Gnisten's stage with their distinctive blend of ambient soundscapes and lyrical melodies. The trio consists of Jonathan Fjord Bredholt on piano and harmonium, Jeppe Lavsen on guitar, and Anders Juel Bomholt on double bass - three musicians whose interplay balances warm acoustic tones with subtle use of effects.

Hvalfugl debuted in 2017 and has since released the albums By (2017), Som En Faldskærm (2019), and Øjeblikke Vi Husker (2020). Most recently, the double LP Bag Vore Øjne Strømmer Drømme Sagte Forbi (2025) was released, bringing together three years of work and EP releases with guest musicians and new musical ideas. In 2025, the trio received the award Live Act of the Year at DMA Jazz.
