Free entry

Supernerven - Vagus Nerve and Mental Calm: Monday 30 November 2026, 17:00–18:00, Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

Stomach pain, stress and anxiety often go hand in hand, and a key part of the explanation lies in the vagus nerve - one of the body's most overlooked nerves. This lecture explores the connection between the nervous system and digestion.

Clinical nutritionist Tine Jørgensen explains how stress, sleep, circadian rhythm, nutrients, gut flora and our daily habits affect both digestion and mental wellbeing, and how small changes in everyday life can make a difference for both. Cookbook author Simon Weisdorf demonstrates how theory becomes practice through simple meals with ingredients that support digestion and the nervous system. The lecture combines research, clinical experience and food, and is aimed at anyone curious about the connection between food, digestion and mental wellbeing.

Tine Jørgensen (b. 1991) holds a degree in clinical nutrition and has spent many years helping people with digestive problems. She has written several books, including the bestseller "Fix Your Digestion", and runs Gut Life Clinic. In August 2026, her book "Supernerven" is published. Simon Weisdorf (b. 1970) is a cookbook author focused on healthy food and is behind the recipe universe CookingClub. He is editor of the I FORM Success Guides book series and has written recipes for several books, including bestsellers "Well-Lubricated" and "Anti-inflammatory Peak Performance". He is also publishing "Supernerven" in August 2026.

The event is part of Copenhagen Libraries' festival "Wild About Science", which in October-November holds scientific lectures for adults at libraries across Copenhagen Municipality.

The lecture is held LIVE at Copenhagen Main Library, 4th floor, Main Stage. Free entry with ticket, but seats cannot be reserved and sightlines to the stage are limited from certain seats. If the event is sold out, you can join the waiting list and be notified when tickets become available - on a first-come, first-served basis. There are often late cancellations, so it may be worth showing up anyway.
