Step on Stage #7
Step On Stage (S.O.S) returns with an evening celebrating music, where Denmark's emerging talents write and perform their own songs. The concept creates a safe space for artists to take the stage, play live, and share their music - come support independent voices and discover your next favorite band.
This edition features Maya's Call, Ronja, and Red Light District.
Maya's Call takes listeners through a colorful and alternative soundscape ranging from melodic rock songs and ballads to hard punk anthems. Musically rooted in the 1990s alternative rock scene, the band experiments freely and pursues a more progressive expression. After five years together, they've played venues like Rust, Drop Inn, Pumpehuset, and Kun For Forrykte Festival, releasing their debut album "Maya's Call" in 2025. They are now working on new material.
Ronja is a young band where music is both personal and collective - vocals are shared among members, and the sound is melodic indie rock with big chords and delicate voices in the style of their 1990s and 2000s influences. The lyrics explore growing up and a longing for another place and time.
Red Light District plays a shoegaze-tinged blend of noise-pop and indie rock, drenched in effects and dreamy soundscapes, inspired by indie acts like Beach House and MGMT. The band describes it as "plastic computer rock" - more rock than roll, more pop than noise. Lyrics range from everyday worries and alienation to grand love, asking: what matters if the world ended tomorrow?
The event takes place at Underwerket.
