Can You Read Your Food? · Copenhagen

Can You Read Your Food: Saturday 7 November 2026, 15:30–16:30, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

Ingredient lists, nutritional information, labels and messages on the front - food packaging is full of information. But what does it actually tell us, and how do we use it to make informed choices?

Using everyday products from the supermarket as a starting point, journalist Line Holt Nielsen explores with the audience what packaging can really tell us when you flip it over and examine the information carefully. The aim is not to judge products as right or wrong, but to provide practical tools for navigating the information. Along the way, the audience can explore different products themselves and try out the tools.

Line Holt Nielsen is a journalist and holds a degree in public health science. She works with food communication at Coop Madskole, focusing on making knowledge about food understandable and practical so people can engage critically with the information they encounter.

This talk is part of Nørrebro Library's food-themed day, which is part of Copenhagen Libraries' festival "Wild About Science" in October and November, where science is presented to adults in many different formats at libraries across Copenhagen.
