On Friday, November 20, 18:30-21:00, author Jens Nilsson presents his debut novel "The Traitor's Compass" at Alverdens Vine ApS. The evening includes a tapas platter and 2 glasses of wine.

The novel takes place behind the scenes of the pharmaceutical industry and examines the balance between the industry's interests in developing new medicines and concern for the individual - and what the real price is for those behind major breakthroughs in drug research. An old case haunts the protagonist, who must follow his moral compass, and the story revolves around the mystery of test patient 1137, who disappeared during trials of a precursor to a new schizophrenia medication. The narrative explores whether ethics, documentation, and science can withstand cynical and capitalist forces in the industry (Byens Forlag).

The programme begins with tapas and wine, followed by a lecture from Jens Nilsson about the book's background - without spoilers. There will be opportunities to ask questions, and at the end you can purchase a signed copy of the book.
