CITY WALK / Ørestad
Does Ørestad have its own Nordic architectural identity? Can we even speak of a distinctive Nordic style? And how do new Nordic narratives emerge through architecture and urban life in a neighbourhood where international influences shape new cultures, communities, and ways of living together?
On this city walk, participants explore and discuss how Ørestad's architecture and public spaces affect everyday life and what new possibilities for living they create.
Along the way we see, among other things:
- a round building
- a patchwork building
- a building full of sound
- a building with a large roof to be covered in green
- a village with 17 ideas for how to live life, with a great view
- a LARGE building right out to Savanna and the Kalvebod Fælled nature park
The walk goes through Ørestad with Mira M. Cordsen, a lecturer, urban life consultant, and resident of the area. She shows around her own neighbourhood, and the group explores the district's architecture, discusses the places it encounters, and exchanges thoughts on contemporary Nordic architecture.
