Public lecture on seaweed and marine ecology: Tuesday 17 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Birkerød Bibliotek, Birkerød. Admission is free.

The evening's lecturer is Annette Bruhn, senior researcher in marine ecology at the Department of Ecoscience, Aarhus University.

About the venue: Birkerød Bibliotek

Birkerød Bibliotek is the main library of Rudersdal Bibliotekerne, situated on Stationsvej 38 close to Birkerød S-train station. The building complex - which also housed the former town hall - was designed by architects Ib and Jørgen Rasmussen and opened in 1980. The library has sections for adults and children and regularly hosts events, talks and courses. Outside staffed hours, self-service access is available, and meeting rooms can be booked by residents and local associations.

About: Annette Bruhn

Senior researcher Annette Bruhn from Aarhus University has spent 18 years mapping how seaweed can be cultivated and put to use - from sugar kelp in Danish waters to sea lettuce in fjord areas. Her work links marine environments, climate and food production, carried out in close collaboration with authorities and industry.
