Debut Fest: HagFags 2.0: Wet Wig Disaster
Brønshøj Vandtårn, Copenhagen · Free
HagFags 2.0: Wet Wig Disaster takes water as its central theme - as a historical witness to the drownings of witch hunts, and as a metaphor for today's more hidden forms of control and regulation. The setting is an occult office landscape where a mutated HR department pitches affective products, practices ritual wellness, and develops spiritual systems for leak management. The boundary between management and incantation, between efficiency and curse, is deliberately blurred.
Water functions here as both material and resistance - it dissolves the distinction between bodies, institutions, and worlds, working with moisture, fluidity, and flooding as infiltrating forces.
HagFags is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Sangría Valentino (DK) and Henna Nerg (FI), exploring performance, drag, video, photography, and sculpture. Through the figures Mr. Pentatits and It's Whitney Witch, they investigate the witch figure as an enduring political and cultural force in a Nordic context, with queerness and feminist resistance as core themes.
Practical info: the performance contains loud sound and bare torsos. Some interactive passages are voluntary. The water tower is not heated. Follow the project on Instagram: @thehagfags @sangriavalentino @paerttylinyyrikki2
