Workshop: Jacquard and Ladderback with Popknit
Brønshøj Kulturhus, Copenhagen · 350 kr. · ≈ 47 €
Jacquard and fair isle techniques involve knitting patterns with multiple colors on the same needle or round, creating floats on the back of the work. When these floats become too long, they can catch on fingers or fabric. This workshop shows you how the ladderback technique solves this problem and ensures a neat, functional reverse side.
The instruction covers an introduction to jacquard knitting, setting up ladderback, knitting in the round with both techniques simultaneously, and finishing off the ladderback. Throughout the workshop, participants knit together a section of the Diamonds And Pearls Sweater Colour pattern. You only need to know how to knit knit and purl stitches - experience with multicolor knitting or textured knitting is not necessary. Everyone takes home a compendium.
Bring circular needles 4-6 mm and yarn in two colors with high contrast - preferably a weight suitable for needles 4-5, such as Peru.
