Workshop: Tunisian Crochet with Helle Kampp — Brønshøj Kulturhus, Copenhagen

This workshop explores Tunisian crochet - also called hakning - where knitting and crochet techniques combine in structured patterns and tactile surfaces. It is designed for those who already know Tunisian knit and purl stitches and want to build on that foundation.

Over three hours, you will work on hakning in the round, pattern reading from diagrams, increases and decreases, and assembly and finishing. There is time to experiment throughout, with ongoing guidance so you can continue on your own afterward. The workshop draws on techniques from the book "Tunisian Crochet for All Seasons" by instructor Helle Kampp Mathorne.

The course includes yarn, a workbook, loan of a 6 mm double-ended crochet hook, and a zipper. You should bring eight stitch markers and a tapestry needle.

Helle Kampp Mathorne is a trained handicraft teacher from Hellerup Handicraft Seminary with many years of experience in teaching, design, and pattern development in knitting, crochet, and hakning. She currently works as a freelance crochet designer for Filcolana.
