In Indian Skies, composer and saxophonist Lars Møller weaves the melodic depths of Indian ragas together with the rhythms of jazz and orchestral music - the result of decades of work. The project brings Indian moods and rhythms into dialogue with jazz's swinging grooves.

As soloists, Ashwani Shankar performs on shehnai, an oboe-like Indian wind instrument whose tradition his family has carried for more than 10 generations. He has played with Ravi Shankar around the world. On tabla sits the young Zuheb Ahmed Khan, who continues the legacy of the recently deceased Zakir Hussein with swinging grooves and creative musicality.

A regular part of the concert is 2-3 pieces featuring young talented musicians - an initiative supported by the Augustinus Foundation aimed at strengthening dialogue between emerging talents and professionals. Indian Skies is also part of a larger cultural exchange project with concerts and educational activities in India, the Nordic countries and the Baltic region, arranged in collaboration with the Danish Cultural Institute.
