Thomas Buttenschøn

Thomas Buttenschøn uden filter is an event where Thomas Buttenschøn is in conversation with a librarian from Greve Library - a collaboration between Greve Library and Portalen.

The focus is his poetic and autobiographical book "Now I Scream in Silence" with the subtitle "not a pop song". The book is a stark account of a childhood marked by the loss of both parents, of being the only dark-skinned person in a white schoolyard, and of living as HIV-positive - a story of marginalization, pain, systemic racism and survival, told with Buttenschøn's poetry that is at once everyday and profound.

Buttenschøn reads selected passages, talks about the background of the book and plays songs from his back catalogue.

The event takes place on Friday, November 13 at 20:00 on the Cabaret Stage in Portalen, which has 120 seats.
