Ester Brohus "Songwriter" Album Tour 2027

With "Songwriter", released on Mermaid Records, Ester Brohus has created her most personal album to date. The songs explore the choices, heartbreaks, hopes and realizations that shape us as people - and the moments when life demands complete honesty.

The album was recorded at Sound Emporium Studio in Nashville and produced by Kerry Marx, music director at the Grand Ole Opry, who has worked with Taylor Swift, James Taylor and Johnny Cash among others. Brohus met Marx after a concert with Thomas Gabriel and Tennessee Four in Denmark, sent him a handful of demos recorded with vocals and piano on her phone - and received the reply: "I can produce it".

The album features a range of experienced Nashville musicians: Cathrine Marx (piano, plays with Rodney Crowell), Tommy Harden (drums, including for Reba McEntire), Eamon Mcloughlin (violin and mandolin with Emmylou Harris), Eddie Dunlap (steel guitar and dobro, with Vince Gill) and Gary Lynn, Dolly Parton's regular bassist. The album contains 11 tracks in total.

"I've always said that if I ever recorded in Nashville, there would have to be a special reason. You could say there was one this time," says Brohus, who deliberately kept the trip to herself to maintain control and make all decisions on her own.
