Get Weird With Wrestling - Qspace Workshop
The Spectacular Body is a weekly workshop series at Warehouse9's Qspace, where the wrestling ring becomes a stage for queer and theatrical performance. Drawing on camp aesthetics, melodrama, and physical comedy, the sessions build larger-than-life alter-egos and personas.
Each session covers concrete techniques: the spectacular bump, basic stage combat and wrestling moves, the theatrical body reaction to fictional contact (the sell), character building with fictional backstories, costume and physical presence, and microphone work with trash-talk and crowd engagement.
The series runs Thursdays 18:30-20:30 - arrive 10 minutes early. Location: Warehouse9, Rosenlunds Allé 5 (Baghuset), 2720 Vanløse. Teaching is in English, or Danish/English depending on the group. Bring comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and clean indoor shoes. No prior wrestling or acting experience required; the workshop welcomes all bodies, fitness levels, and identities. Age limit: 18+.
The workshop is facilitated by KFWS, who work with sensory, physical, and participatory performance in queer community spaces. Questions to wrestling.scenekunst@gmail.com. Warehouse9 has level-free access and a gender-neutral accessible toilet via certified stair lift. Sign up via the button at the top of the page.
