Tour of the Royal Burial Chapel

Behind the castle church at Sønderborg Slot lies a burial chapel spread across five rooms, where 46 dukes, duchesses, princes and princesses are interred. The chapel is normally closed to the public and opens only for these guided tours.

The tour covers a selection of the interred persons as well as the decoration and inscriptions on the coffins. It is led by Dr. phil. Carsten Porskrog Rasmussen, head of the History department at Museum Sønderjylland.

Duration: approximately 1 hour. There are 20 places per tour - tickets are recommended to be purchased in advance.
