Southland Jazzband

Southland Jazzband plays classic New Orleans jazz and swing in the tradition of the 1920s and 30s. The repertoire draws on melodies associated with Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Chris Barber, and Papa Bue - and increasingly original material written in the same style.

The band consists of five musicians and deliberately plays without drums to highlight the acoustic sounds and keep the music intimate: Asbjørn Kamban (trumpet), Anders Ringgaard (trombone and vocals), Jon Bjarnason (banjo and vocals), Guy Moscoso (clarinet, soprano sax and vocals), and Jens Holgersen (double bass).

The band is based in South Funen and performs at jazz clubs, festivals, cultural events, private parties, and dance events throughout the country.
