All You Read Is Love: Monsters, Power and Dark Desires
Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen · Free tickets
Hovedbiblioteket and the romance newsletter All You Read Is Love, in collaboration with Golden Days, focus on C. A. Wolters, who was among the first to bring romantasy to a Danish audience with the series 'The Red Dawn'. The event takes place on Store Scene, 4th floor.
Wolters meets with two of the newsletter's editors - literature mediator Signe Marie Højlund Frøslev and librarian Lene Zibrandtsen from Valby Bibliotek - for an in-depth discussion of the series' first two books. On the table lies everything that makes romantasy romantasy: dangerous desires, forbidden relationships, morally questionable love interests, and characters who would rather choose war than therapy. And magic. And each other.
Book 1 follows Shiroin, daughter of the Great Emperor, who has heard an inner voice her whole life - a whisper she calls the worm - that demands obedience. She wants the throne, but the emperor's life and the empire's ten kings stand in her way. When the worm urges violence, she devises a riskier plan and sets out with her bodyguard Kiel through war-torn kingdoms, while a prophecy of apocalyptic war smolders and dark forces emerge from the Wasteland. In book 2, Empress Shiroin has defeated the Blood Lord and secured the throne - but the empire wavers, the kings conspire, the dream witch's nightmares invade her mind, and the enemy gathers in the north. Shiroin must balance duty, madness, and her promise to her lover in a world where lies strike as surely as weapons.
If you have questions or thoughts, you can send them in advance by replying to the latest edition of the All You Read Is Love newsletter or write directly to literature mediator Mathias - or you can bring them on the day. Free tickets are available via Billetto; note that the view to the stage is limited from certain seats. The event is part of Golden Days 2026.
